Very handy PCB layout tips there Chuck. I have used the capacitor trick before so you can fit different sized caps in, but I haven't tried any of the others. The trimpot would certainly come in handy since I've been working on a PCB where I wasn't sure of the exact type of trimpot that I would be using.
