Forgot to post the "finished" project
Sorry everyone I forgot to come back and post the rest of my pov project. I hope to do a full report on it when I get more time. I had to take the summer off because of work and I was getting my pilots license. But back to topic, I did get an A for this project. I recently updated it so I could show it off a bit more. I had originally made it with a "slap wire" so that I could get it to run without a line break sensor or magnetic switch. I still need to make the pcb board to hold everything together as I'm sure that spinning a solderless breadboard at almost 1800 rpm is not safe. The first video was when my group put hardware to software and turned it on. It was very unbalanced and glitchy. I then decided I could make better hardware to have a showpiece to look at. I made an aluminum disk to hold the leds and electronics. Found a massive motor and control to spin it at almost double the speed. I can now get just over 40 frames per second. The Image is much clearer and stabilized due to the sturdy aluminum base and weight of the motor. This is when the second video was taken at this point. After adding new hardware to the equation I decided to change the software so that I could change the the frames without much efford. I did this with a macro. The data is loaded into data blocks with the fsr. So with the macro I must now only point to the frame I would like to display and tell it how long I want it displayed in number of frames. I have also made an excel spreadsheet like brads that allows me to easily design new frames. The third video was taken at this point. I then added a forth video that has it running with the linebreak sensor I added. Sorry for the roughness of this post but it is starting to get late here and I plan on do a full writeup soon. If you have any questions about the project please ask.
