I was watching a video on Hackaday with Bil Herd and he made me interested in the PSOC4 board which is basically a programmable system on a chip and it uses Arduino style shields (daughterboards).

Think about this. With software, you can add digital, analog or other circuits like a UART to your microcontroller.

I have wanted to get one of these devices since I saw a mini dev board using (I think) a Psoc 4 chip on Kickstarter. I didn't end up getting one but I did try out the IDE and it is fantastic just how configurable the chip is and the fact that you can use a graphical interface to drag and drop logic elements to make a complete circuit. very nice indeed.

Books on PSOC:

I'm wondering why beginner kit sites are selling their tutorials instead of teaching PSOC.
Is PSOC not for beginners?

From what I have seen, I thought it was for beginners and seasoned experts alike. I have downloaded the software but am still yet to order one!
