I found out about this pic and the prices are cheap in the one dollar range and there are samples available.

It is basically for low cost projects and the other reason I like it is because it is designed for LCDs.

For a little more than a dollar, you can have a cheap pic or you can at least get some samples for free. If you have a high volume production, you can probably save a little as they are less than $2.00.
But hey, if it isn't your thing then you can get some samples for free because there isn't much to complain about free.
