Last night I bought a USB oscilloscope on ebay
it cost around $170US delivered and testing out the software - it is quite feature packed.it is called the DSO-2090

Just open it up and it will say error connecting to the oscilloscope, just click ignore and you can use it anyway - it will also present you with a demo sig gen, where you can change the frequency coming in and then use the scope.
I used it last night and thought it would be much better than my small screen oscilloscope. plus, you can pause the signal, save data etc...
