This Wall E laptop was made by Vtech and there are few left. It is a preschool toy which has a keyboard, an LCD screen and eyes that have a shutter mechanism that opens and closes. It makes music and I thought that these are perfect toys to hack because the body is already made for users and the hands are rotary switches.
I'm guessing the microcontroller could be replaced in a lot of these devices or identified and reprogrammed.

Discovery Kids™ Teach 'n' Talk Exploration Laptop
Depending on where you buy it, it ranges from $9.99 to $97.90 for the same laptop. It comes in different colors. It has a keyboard, LCD, sound and a mouse but the mouse has a phono plug so it is probably a button. It could be a good device to hack, add your own microcontroller or whatever. I would rather you work with the $9.99 one than the $97.90 one because I believe they are the same laptop.
