Microsoft Small Basic is a free download and it looks friendly for kids to learn. In the 80's there was LOGO and Pilot being offered to kids. When I was in college, they taught Turbo Pascal by Borland and now it is a free download.

Glad you posted that. I was looking for something to get my son's attention and that seemed to do the trick.
Got him learning what variables are, FOR loops, and how a basic program is structured.
