Welcome to the forum Joyce. Have you been into electronics for a while now or are you a newcomer?

Re: MakerBuino build yourself kit

Sorry Gav for my late reply. Since getting the retroball kickstarter up and running, I haven't logged into the forum! I was actually following this on Kickstarter and I was glad to see that it did really well - mainly because the projects I put on kickstarter are of the same DIY electronics nature! ...

Re: Is this a 22nf or 220pf?

I can see you have the answer now but it looks like they are using the convention which seems to be used increasingly with resistors. Instead of writing 1.2k for instance it would be written as 1k2. So because you have an 'n' followed by the digits '22' you would place the decimal point in place of ...

Re: Beginning C for Arduino: Learn C Programming for the Arduino

Well that certainly beats any job interview that I have ever gone to. I did actually find some old documents for when I was interviewed for the airforce in 2001. The documents recommended that I should not be taken on and that I need more time to mature. The strange thing however is that I was accep...

Re: Indirect Addressing - a more efficient way to programming

I remember making the switch from 16F pics to 18F pics back in 2009/ 2010. The memory paging issues were a big determining factor in making that switch because I remember having huge issues with it.

Re: The Problems about PIC18F45K80 Memory

Have you used this compiler for other projects? If so, is the memory usage as you might expect it to be - does the memory usage simply jump up to a high value when you are using a matrix?

They've even got an acoustic coupler! I wonder what the baud rate is on that thing :)

You're right Garth - it is the standard pro-silver theme. Perhaps one day I could get around to updating it to something else while still keeping it nice and readable :)

Re: Robot [DLR crawler]

That would be great to have a ball catching robot! I could set it up in the corner of the staff room at work and throw things at it now and again when I need to rest my brain for a while.

Re: Seeed Studio Factory

That makes sense Garth, I wonder if they are able to extract some sort of 'glue' placement information from the gerber files, or if they have to make it up themselves at the factory?

It's a wonderful feet of engineering isn't it? yet it pails in complexity and ability when compared to us!

Re: 11 Myths About 8-Bit Microcontrollers

That's a good read. I had fallen in to the trap that 8-bit MCU's were perhaps going to be overtaken. especially with the power house microcontroller DEV boards available now like Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone's etc... However I have only ever used 8-bit microcontrollers and they have been perfect for ...
