Prototype board with an Arduino footprint
I have put together my own prototype board with an Arduino footprint. It's been designed to use with my SF Board here. but will be compatible with Arduino and also Firewing.. It contains a few small footprints for some small smd components, if I wish to use a certain type of chip like RTC, temp or e...

Re: Swordfish board for Arduino - work in progress
74595's are a great chip, I used them on my DigiPixel board and I am in the process of designing a board for work with a bunch of LED's on it. Yes indeed, the 74595 is a very handy chip if you want more outputs. I used them in one of my last projects also to drive led's :) Matrix Shield matrixGamep...

Re: Swordfish board for Arduino - work in progress
You got me thinking Brad and I think I've come up with an idea! I've now added a 74595 to the eight leds and managed to dedicate only 3 mcu lines.. reworked the board a little too..brad wrote:eight LED's which I assume are connected to a dedicated 8 bit port?!

It's all looking very amazing and professional Brad, damn it about the other Kickstarter though!. I really like the small led's, can't wait to see them in action.. Did you solder them? do you have a reflow oven now?.

Re: What do you guys think of the latest operating systems?
To be honest I have always preferred windows, but mac is good!.. I have just switched to windows 8, not really out of choice because I think it's not very user friendly at all, but I did take the jump from windows Vista  as for apple I07 :| bring back I06 I say, everything is so dull and plain..

I'm using Latest build: 2.3.1.0 (March 20, 2013). The yellow/grey 3D components are actually shapes that I have imported into Diptrace 3DMrDEB wrote:What Diptrace version are you using.

The week's seem to be flying by at the moment! :( I hope the twins are doing good Brad?. Any how I have managed to get back onto this project over the last few days, I have lot's of code done and the board module (software) is coming along nicely, the odd bug or two, which took me a little while to ...

Yes indeed he is very clever!. I like the widgets code, 7 seg display and some visual gauges, that will be very handy for making a display with several sensor readings!.

Re: Diptrace pattern ??
It was actually pointed out to me that I might have had the pads incorrect to the datasheet. So I have now updated the part pattern and also increased the pad size incase this part needs to be soldered by hand onto the board, all patterns are included in the following diptrace download.. You can see...

Re: Swordfish board for Arduino - work in progress
I'm just wondering though - isn't the +5V from the USB port just shorted straight to the +5V of the onboard regulator. If this is the case, how would the circuit know that it is the USB port providing power or something else? Well yes your correct the +5V from USB port on my board is connected to t...
