Yep, what you have just described is better known as the half adder. you can add two individual binary numbers together and it will give you the sum and carry outputs. Here's one made out of an xor gate and an and gate: http://www.cc.gatech.edu/classes/AY2007/cs2200_fall/tutorial/section3/halfAdderD...

Man that is really cool. I guess it might look something like the good ol' Altair 8800 in the end? http://www.kantl.be/ctb/vanhoutte/teach/slides/graphics/altair8800.jpg I think that would be a great project and someday, I think I will give it a go. I definately dont have the time to dedicate to suc...

That just about sums it up there diggs. It would certainly help if you checked out the 8x85 POV display. There is quite a bit of info there. Also have a look at the 74373 datasheet (which you can grab from the link below) http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=18&ved=0CB0QFjAHOAo&url...

Hi, and welcome to the forum! I myself made a pov globe a couple of years ago, basically stealing the idea from this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/v/oLygWkHo9nw The great thing is that you don't need special seperate timing for the LED's even though they are in a curve. (I.E. the LED's on th...

Hi there Digg, It is taking a while for me to get the content transferred over, mainly because I don't have a whole heap of time to dedicate to doing that at the moment. But it will be up within the next few days. Now, POV projects are great! I am actually working on a new 8x85 which only uses 1 IC ...

They are capacitors. Used to filter out any noise that may be present on the power supply rail (I.E. they are connected between GND and VCC next to each IC) I found that I didn't need them (I guess I was just a bit lazy) but it is always good practice to add those caps to every IC in your circuit. Sorry to mess everyone around!

Just a bit of background - I made a site back in 2006 / 2007 called retrobrad, it was all about retro video games. http://www.retr...
