Re: Swordfish board for Arduino - work in progress

After a few versions of the board I think the board is almost finished (depending on testing).. Over the weekend I have built up the 4 versions of the board (18F4550.18F4553,18F46J50,18F47J50) Here is a sneak look at the boards :)

Re: Swordfish board for Arduino - work in progress

Well done bitfogav :) Is there some sort of jumper that you use to select between 3.3v and 5v? Yes indeed, it's pretty much a cheap way by using some solder surface pads :) this only changes the power supply to the main chip, you still have 5v and 3.3v on the headers. Made my own solder pads in Dip...

Re: ISCP expander board ordered

Well I hope the ring size of those pads aren't too small, keep us updated when you have one finished..

Re: ISCP expander board ordered

Looking good, I like to see the finished board :)

What is component D6? The outer part of the pads for this part looks kind of small?..

Re: Swordfish board for Arduino - work in progress

I have already designed another version of the board, this time it supports 3.3v and 5v microchips (18F4550.18F4553,18F46J50,18F47J50) :)

Wings3D - Original 3D models from Diptrace

I thought it may be handy to share that you can actually import the orginal Diptrace 3D models into Wings3D 3D models in Wings binary format (*.wings) have been published on download page of DipTrace website. Previously, it was hard to import *.wrl files back to 3D software for editing and getting c...

Diptrace 3D Component Library

Hi all, here is where I am going to be sharing my Diptrace 3D component Library (WRL 2.0 format). I'm sure I'll be updating it quite frequently and adding new components.. (keep checking by for updates).. To find out how to import the files into Diptrace check out my 3D component tutorial here. Ard...

Re: Adding 3D patterns to Diptrace pcb designs - Tutorial

Ok so I have been playing around with Wings3D and I have found a way of making the dull components all life like! :) You will need to download STL file types from the 3D website, and Import them into Wings3D (all the info in previous post). Now with the component in Wings3D you need to select the bo...

Re: Adding 3D patterns to Diptrace pcb designs - Tutorial

Option Two - Here we download a different file type from the same 3DContentCentral.com of the same component, this time you want to download the STL (.stl) file, instead of WRL, but we need to convert this file into .wrl (VRML 2.0) this can be done by downloading the FREE software Wings3D . We impo...

Re: Adding 3D patterns to Diptrace pcb designs - Tutorial

*UPDATE* Since writing the tutorial I have noticed that some of the .wrl files which are downloaded from 3DContentCentral.com are not the correct VRML version for Diptrace. Some files are (VRML v1.0), and some are (VRML v2.0) which is what Diptrace supports. And some VRML files only allow the compon...

Re: Prototype board with an Arduino footprint

Do you have a link to where we can download those 3D models for the headers? I will be doing a post soon and will update here with a link for the 3D headers/components etc.. Also - how are those SMD chips connected - do they just go straight to some male / female headers so that you can then interf...

Re: Adding 3D patterns to Diptrace pcb designs - Tutorial

On your Diptrace design, select the part which you wish to update the 3D component for (right mouse click), and select 3D Model.. select£Dmodel.jpg Find the imported component by clicking the "All Models" box, search down the list for the named component. (in my case the 8pin header). findmodel.jpg ...

Adding 3D patterns to Diptrace pcb designs - Tutorial

Hey people.. So if you're like me and are fed up of the lack of available 3D patterns in Diptrace then this is a way I have found to import your own or already made 3D patterns. Diptrace uses .WRL (Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML)) file extensions for it's 3D patterns: WRL files are plain AS...
