Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Brad, the RESET pin is connected to PORT D, and I don't reset it in code. When I use a bench power supply to power the poi it works fine, but if I when I connect it to a fully charged battery (which gets charged to around 4.1V) it displays garbage values. when I reconnect it continuously suddenly it...

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Brad I am still facing a problem, they just don"t seem to be getting over. I use am Ni-Cd Rechargeable Battery (3.6V, 400mAh) to power on the poi. Now I don't understand something, when I fully charge the battery it reads 4.1V. Another thing is that when the battery is fully charged and I power on t...

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Brad, I was just wondering if it's possible to create a GUI to generate my AVR source code depending on certain parameters that are fed in the program. I thought of this by looking at your GUI for LONG POV Converter which generates the source code for pic and then you have to paste it in swordfish. ...

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

hi Brad, Good to hear from you :D . Ok getting to the point, I do get to see "Google" entirely  , but at times when "ogle" appears "Go" fades out :!: . I'm guessing that's bcoz the rotational speed decreases :? , as its not possible to maintain a constant rotational speed with your hands. :rol...

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Hi Guys,

Its been a long time. The POV Display is working fine now. But I have to still spend sometime getting the right data from the software to put in the EEPROM.

Anyways, whats your latest project guys?

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Yes but I was initializing them within the while loop. I was initializing the variables every time it starts a new frame.

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Alright, it started working. My friend was helping me with this problem, and he tried different things and at the end all he did is he copied the initializing statements and pasted them before the WHILE loop as well, i.e. the address variables (a & b), latch selecting variable (j), and the control p...

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Hi Brad, I haven't checked the output of the eeprom manually. The eeprom contains data from 0000h-0E0Fh. 0000h-0707h contains the word "PUMA" and 0708h-0E0Fh contains the puma logo(Panther). But I feel I'm sure that it doesn't access unprogrammed memory because I've double and triple checked the mem...

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

what was the problem you faced with the 32x64 POV???? For me, I'm getting a different colors everytime I connect the power supply. And this combination remains constant until the power supply is removed. It's pretty much frustrating when you can't understand where the fault is.

Re: Help with an AVR version of the POV Display

Hey Brad, I've modified the c code for displaying 2 frames (2 pictures), but the POV display just wont display even 1 picture. It just displays some random colors across the LEDs which remains constant. The LEDs don't even blink. When I run the simulation in the compiler it works fine but when I tes...
