Yes those 8x8 led matrix's are what you need, mine are from sure electronics

Those ones will certainly do the job although I do recommend getting the diffused ones. They just look so much nicer.

Those ones are the small 2cm x 2cm versions which I am very sure would only be one color (red) as opposed to having red and green in them.

I have just got 8x8 matrix bicolor 3 mm from sure electronic : XSM-D1088BRG, but the only problem that it has 12 pins not 8 pins...

how do i interface them for smiley face animation you have created?
